NISA Salute to Past Presidents
Bob served as President and Chief Executive Officer of the National Industrial Sand Association (NISA) for over 15 years. NISA is a trade association representing the interests of the industrial sand industry. In 2002, the Industrial Minerals Association (IMA-NA) was formed under Bobís guidance in collaboration with the leadership of the industrial minerals industry. Bob served as the first President and CEO of the IMA-NA.
In 1998 he retired as a commissioned officer in the U.S. Public Health Service where he served as Director of the Division of Respiratory Disease Studies of NIOSH. In this capacity, he directed a staff of physicians, epidemiologists, industrial hygienists, and biological scientists conducting occupational lung disease research. Bob began his career in the U.S. Army where he served in Vietnam and was later involved in the demilitarization of chemical warfare agents.
Bob continues to serve as a consulting scientist in the Washington office of Crowell & Moring which he joined in 2004. As a consulting scientist, he provides scientific expertise to the attorneys in the Litigation Group in the areas of product liability and mass toxic tort cases.
